The content library

Three audiences. One platform.

The library is organised into three sections — each written in the voice, tone and register that works for that audience, and each available in every language your school needs. Stories for children, Guides for grown-ups.

A learning tool, not a document

Same content. Every child. Every language.

Empathia is built for the classroom you actually have: children at different stages, families who read different languages, and staff who need one consistent message. Play a Story to the whole class, sit with one child and go through it together, or send the Guide home — it's the same content each time, in the language each person needs.

🧒

One-to-one

A teaching assistant and one child, a Story about a big feeling, paused where it matters. Targeted support that starts before any diagnosis.

👥

Small group or whole class

The same Story on the board for everyone — new rules, a change of routine, coming back after time away — so no child is singled out for needing it.

🌍

The multilingual classroom

Every Story and Guide is available in the languages your families speak, so a child hears it in English at school and a parent reads the same message at home in their own language.

Ready to use
A full library from day one

Stories and Guides across feelings and regulation, rules and routines, school readiness, the graduated response, trauma-informed practice, EBSNA, SEMH and the EYFS — written by specialists, approved by SENCOs.

Yours to shape
Customise it to your school

Your school's name, your routines, your places and your words — the library is a starting point, not a script you're stuck with.

Growing with you
New topics on demand

A new arrival, a bereavement, a building move, a change in the behaviour policy — ask for a Story or Guide on it and it's written, checked and in your library, in every language you need.

What must be included in your school's Inclusion Strategy — deadline in England 31 December 2026

Every mainstream school must publish one on its website. It's a condition of the Inclusive Mainstream Fund, governors scrutinise it, and Ofsted reads it — inclusion is now a standalone grade on the report card. It must be organised under the DfE's seven principles, in the DfE template. Only your cohort can make it yours.

Tap through the questions on your phone. A first draft in the DfE template shape from your own numbers, with an evidence appendix. Nothing is invented; anything you don't know is marked.

The DfE's seven principles of inclusion

Empathia is evidenced provision for five; the other two are yours to lead — and we say so.

  • 1ambitious leadership and governance that embeds inclusionYours to lead
  • 2evidence-based support prioritising early interventionEmpathia is provision
  • 3high quality adaptive teaching with curriculum designed for all learnersEmpathia is provision
  • 4enriching provision beyond the classroom that all children can accessYours to lead
  • 5a safe and respectful culture fostering belonging, attendance, and participation in learningEmpathia is provision
  • 6strong partnerships with families and wider servicesEmpathia is provision
  • 7inclusive environments with continuous improvements to accessibilityEmpathia is provision
Then, where your gaps are

Empathia is the provision — ready this term, funded from the IMF you already hold.

Stories that start early support before any diagnosis and build regulation and belonging. CPD and consistent content for staff. Family communication in the languages your families speak. Avatar-delivered visual supports. Start before half-term and the strategy you publish in December carries real outcome numbers.

Our evidence base

Built on what actually works.

Every piece of Empathia content is grounded in established frameworks and research — and we're transparent about where that evidence comes from.

Carol Gray's Social Stories™

Children's stories informed by Gray's principles of patient tone, first-person perspective, and describing before directing.

Trauma-informed practice

Staff content draws on Bruce Perry, Bessel van der Kolk, Dan Hughes and Stephen Porges' Polyvagal Theory.

Zones of Regulation

Informed by Leah Kuypers' framework for emotional literacy and self-regulation.

SEND Code of Practice

Parent content is grounded in the SEND Code of Practice (2015) and the graduated approach to identifying and supporting children.

Ofsted alignment

Built for inspection-ready schools.

Empathia content is mapped to Ofsted's renewed framework — giving schools clear, evidenceable support across all six evaluation areas.
