Every mainstream school in England must publish one by 31 December 2026, in the DfE template. The template is fixed; only your cohort can make it yours.

What we'll ask

The same fields as the DfE template, one tap at a time: your cover details, your cohort (a few numbers, then how each need area compares nationally), and for each of the seven principles — where you are, the main barrier, the evidence, the outcome you want, how you'll know, the activity you'll fund and what it costs. Every choice has an "in your own words" box; that is what makes it yours. Skip anything you don't know — the draft marks it, never invents it.

What you'll need

Your school email — we send a six-digit code, no password. Last year's SEND, attendance and behaviour figures to hand if you have them. You can stop and come back; your answers are saved.

What you'll do with it

Fill the gaps in the workspace, assign the actions, get governors to sign off, export to the DfE Word template, publish — and next July, refresh it rather than rewrite it.
